Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Structures Lead to lead the structural design, analysis, and optimization of advanced aircraft configurations.
This role is responsible for defining the airframe structural architecture, load paths, and material systems while ensuring optimal balance between structural integrity, weight efficiency, and manufacturability.
The candidate should bring a strong research background in aerospace structures combined with hands-on industrial experience in aircraft or high-performance structural engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and architecture development for aircraft airframe systems
- Define primary and secondary load paths for advanced aircraft configurations
- Perform high-fidelity finite element analysis (FEA) for static, dynamic, fatigue, and failure conditions
- Develop structural sizing models and perform weight optimization studies
- Conduct composite and metallic structural design and material selection
- Ensure structural integrity under aerodynamic, inertial, and operational load cases
- Collaborate with aerodynamic and systems teams for integrated aircraft design
- Evaluate manufacturability and structural feasibility of design concepts
- Lead structural optimization for weight reduction and performance improvement
- Prepare technical documentation, structural reports, and certification-ready analysis packages
- Support design reviews and engineering decision-making at configuration level
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (mandatory)
- 5–12+ years of experience in aerospace OEMs or Tier-1 aerospace organizations
- Strong expertise in finite element analysis (ANSYS / Abaqus or equivalent)
- Deep understanding of aircraft structural mechanics and load analysis
- Experience in composite and metallic aircraft structural design
- Knowledge of fatigue, fracture mechanics, and damage tolerance principles
- Experience in structural optimization and lightweight design methodologies
- Exposure to aircraft, UAV, or advanced aerospace structural programs
- Strong ability to bridge research-level methods with industrial application
- Experience in multidisciplinary aircraft development programs is highly preferred
