At Aerosapien Technologies, your work powers real-world innovation. We are a team where engineering excellence meets bold imagination — where every idea counts, every design matters, and every engineer makes an impact. From concept to creation, we turn vision into reality through collaboration, precision, and purpose. Together, we’re redefining the boundaries of design, technology, and manufacturing. Join us and be part of a journey to build something extraordinary.

The Propulsion Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, integration, and optimization of the electric propulsion system for an advanced aircraft. This includes motor selection, propeller/rotor integration, power electronics, energy storage coordination, and thermal management to ensure performance, safety, and certification readiness for full-scale production in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support conceptual and preliminary design of propulsion systems.

  • Perform propulsion sizing based on mission and performance requirements (hover, climb, transition, cruise).

  • Evaluate and select electric motors, inverters, propellers/rotors, and power distribution architecture.

  • Conduct thrust, efficiency, and power analysis for distributed propulsion configurations.

  • Support integration of propulsion system with airframe and flight control systems.

  • Develop propulsion performance models and simulations (MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools).

  • Analyze powertrain efficiency, redundancy, and failure modes.

  • Support thermal management design for motors, batteries, and power electronics.

  • Participate in system-level trade studies and risk assessments.

  • Prepare technical documentation and support design reviews (SRR, PDR).

  • Assist with early certification planning in coordination with FAA compliance strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in electric propulsion, aerospace propulsion, or powertrain systems.

  • Strong understanding of electric motors, power electronics, and battery systems.

  • Experience with propulsion performance modeling and simulation tools.

  • Familiarity with distributed electric propulsion architectures (preferred).

  • Knowledge of aerospace safety, redundancy, and certification considerations.
